Regular Meeting                                                                                                                      August 8, 2016

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Mayor Randy Bauer.

Roll Call: Bergmeier, Hoskins, Kane, and Plogman. Huber was absent.

Kane moved approval of the agenda as posted, seconded by Hoskins. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Hoskins moved approval of the July 11, 2016 minutes as posted and published, seconded by Bergmeier.

Roll Call; Unanimous.

Kane moved approval of the July 31, 2016 Treasurer Report, seconded by Plogman.

Roll Call: Unanimous.

Kane moved approval of the August Expenditures, seconded by Hoskins. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Tim Yoder was present to give update on landfill finances and establishing a disaster plan.

Kane moved approval of barricades for B Street NE “Block Party” on Saturday August 27

(3:00 p.m. – midnight), seconded by Plogman. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Kane moved approval of barricades for B Avenue W. and C Avenue W. “End of Summer Party”

on Saturday August 13 (1:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.), seconded by Hoskins. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Discussion was held regarding tornado cleanup and outstanding response from everyone.

Plogman moved approval of Asplundh Storm Restoration Agreement, seconded by Bergmeier.

Roll Call: Unanimous.

Kane moved approval of the June 30, 2016 State Outstanding Obligation Report, seconded by Bergmeier. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Kane introduced Resolution No. 8-16-1 approving the FY 15/16 Annual DOT Street Finance Report, seconded by Hoskins. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Hoskins moved approval of the renewal of General and Sewer Fund 6 month Certificates, seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.

New Sheriff Report format reviewed and placed on file.

Discussion was held regarding Linn County minimum wage increase. Informal discussion of opting out.

Park and Recreation Board August 2, 2016 minutes received and placed on file.

Other areas of discussion included but not limited to the following: Knapp Creek tree debris, generator for maintenance building, siren replacement, Waggener property cleanup status, and the possibility of Walford Community night at the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

Kane moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m., seconded by Hoskins. Roll Call: Unanimous.
