Walford Park and Recreation Minutes

Regular Meeting                                                                                                Tuesday April 2nd, 2024

Meeting called to order at 7:05.  Miner, Werner, Heber, Davis present. Hebert absent.

Motion by Miner to approve March 5 meeting minutes, seconded by Heber.  Approved unanimous.

P&R survey results

Discussion included forming a multi-year plan of improvements/additions to current city parks.

IVL Board meeting update

Walford will have:

2 T-ball teams, 1 boys machine-pitch, 2 LL softball teams, 1 PL softball team, 1 LL baseball team, no PL baseball team.  The three PL baseball registrants have been given options within the IVL to join other town rosters.

Discussion also included application of diamond rental agreement for the adult IVL League. Miner to consult adult IVL league directors.  Additional discussion included locking gates of prepared diamonds ahead of scheduled games during the coming season.

Discussion/Possible Action regarding volunteer to assist with city newsletter

Planned cadence is monthly e-mail, possible quarterly mailer.  No action taken.

Equipment/Grounds/Maintenance

Motion by Miner to allocate up to $350 to replace the fan in the concession stand building.  Seconded by Werner.  Approved unanimous.

Motion to adjourn by Werner, seconded by Davis.  Meeting adjourned 8:28pm.
