Walford Park and Recreation Minutes

Regular Meeting                                                                                                Thursday, May 8, 2025

Meeting called to order at 7:02 pm. Werner, Painter, Hahn present. Miner and Davis absent. 

Motion by Painter to approve April 1, 2025 Parks Board minutes, seconded by Werner. Approved unanimous. 

Motion by Painter to spend up to $500 to print and mail second quarter newsletter. Seconded by Hahn. Approved unanimous. 

Motion by Painter to increase certified umpire pay to $65. Uncertified umpires will make $40 per game (up to 3 games), $45 per game for 4-6 games and $50 per game if they umpire more than 7 games. Seconded by Hahn. Approved unanimous.

Motion by Hahn to lease concession stand to Jon and Sabrina Marte. Seconded by Werner. Approved unanimous. 

Motion by Hahn to add a keypad lock to the city park shed. Seconded by Painter. Approved unanimous. 

Motion by Painter to spend up to $250 on equipment to support a youth pickleball minicamp. Seconded by Hahn. Approved unanimous.

Citizen Comments 

Citizens present to discuss concerns regarding dust if the City Park ball diamond sod is replaced with lime. Committee will evaluate alternative approaches to increasing the versatility of the field without creating a dust issue. 

Move to adjourn by Hahn, seconded by Painter. Meeting adjourned 8:55 pm.
