Walford Cityline
August 2026
City Council
  • LRS now has a local number to report any garbage / recycling / yard waste issues. (244) 233-1711 is the number. While it is not a local area code, LRS has told the city it is answered in North Liberty.
  • On 8/11/26, City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission held a joint meeting with Linn County Planning and Development. The discussion focused on developing a possible Fringe Area Agreement, which would outline how development near city limits will be handled and give the city some input on possible rezoning actions. We are working on specific next steps and will hold a public meeting to gather input on what a Fringe Area Agreement should contain. More to come.
  • The Council approved the first reading of a revision to Ordinance 145, Dangerous Buildings. This revision summarizes how a dangerous building is identified and the process to notify the owner and the steps they must take to bring the building to a safe condition.
Upcoming Events
  • Parks and Rec Meeting – 9/1
  • City Council Meeting – 9/8
  • Walford Halloween Party – 10/24
No Parks and Rec update for August due to the meeting being cancelled.
