Mayor’s Notes
- Garbage collection: The city is addressing ongoing LRS service concerns, including late and missed pickups. The city attorney is reviewing options, and the mayor is meeting with LRS on June 10.
- Summer safety: Residents are asked to slow down, avoid distractions, and watch for kids near streets, parks, and neighborhoods.
- Reckless driving: The city has asked the Linn County Sheriff’s Office to increase enforcement in certain areas.
Parks and Rec
Fireworks may be shot off between June 1 and July 8. Residents should review city ordinances on the city website for full details.
City Council
The council renewed the library contract with the Fairfax Library, giving Walford residents the same library privileges and rights as Fairfax residents.

- City Hall will be closed June 19 through June 26.
- Morning pickleball is available at the city park Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome.
