City Council Recap
- 1st Avenue West is scheduled to close for bridge work starting May 23 for a few days. A detour will be posted, and the schedule may change due to weather.
- The 2026 Asphalt Program will begin in the coming weeks. Updates will be shared through TextMyGov and the City of Walford Facebook page.
Parks & Rec
- The city discussed first steps for adding another pickleball court at City Park and redoing concession stands at the ball diamonds.
- Citizen comments are welcome on these park improvements.
- Summer ball umpires are needed. Pay is $50/game uncertified or $75/game certified.
Reminders
- City Offices will be closed May 25.
- Golf carts and chickens must have permits updated annually.
- Pickleball is open at City Park Monday through Friday from 9–11am. All ages welcome.

- Walk on the left side of the road and ride bikes on the right with traffic.
Nuisance Reminder
- Residents are asked to help keep Walford safe, clean, and neighbor-friendly.
- Common nuisances include junk or debris, overgrown vegetation, unsafe structures, standing water, offensive odors or smoke, improper material storage, and junk vehicles, boats, or trailers.
- Potential nuisances may be reported anonymously to City Hall.
Amnesty Day Rules
- Amnesty Day is for Walford residents only.
- Hazardous materials, yard waste, construction or demolition materials, and tires are not accepted.
- Certain bulky items require tags. Tags are available at City Hall and The Depot.
- Bulky items may be picked up year-round with the proper tags. See the mailed flyer or City Hall for details.
